The 89th Annual Marion County Fair Returns Friday, June 21-June 30!

INDIANAPOLIS – The gates to the Marion County Fair swing open for its 89th annual Fair Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 30 at 7300 East Troy Avenue with a full complement of fun and entertainment for all ages on the agenda.

This year’s headlining feature is Dino-ROAR, which will be doing performances all 10 days at the fair. This show features eight life-like animatronic dinosaurs for all the dinosaur lovers in Marion County. This shows goal is to education kids with dinosaur facts while being interactive and entertaining.

Other special featured events this year are as followed:

  • First Bite Fishing Tank (June  21st-30th)
  • Baird Petting Zoo (June 21st-30th)
  • Elite K-9 Performances (June 22nd-23rd & June 28th-30th)
  • Bear Hollow Chainsaw Carving Demos & Auction (June 21st-23rd & June 30th)
  • Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides (June 21st-22nd & June 28th)
  • Princesses and Superheroes (June 22nd & June 29th)

The Grandstands will have a large array of different events going on that you shouldn’t miss. Both TQ Midget Racing and the Demolition Derby will be returning again to the fair. The two-night Demolition Derby is back and better than ever with more cars and a larger arena! The two and a half hour show will feature more classes including, Power Wheels, Mini-Vans, Full Size Gut n’ Go, and more. Both nights will feature the special pretty car contest. With the improved track expect faster speeds than ever before. Each night of the derby for general admission is $5 with children 5 and under being free. For $10, audience members can get a pit pass/Power Wheels Driver pass. If you are interested in registering a car or driver, the cost is $35. There will also be motorcross & quad racing and Outlaw Karts to round out the Grandstands’ events this year.

Park Stage offers continual free events throughout the entire fair. Among these performances are Bryan Thompson, Ziynne “Kid of Pop”, Vinnie & the Moochers, Gospel Music Fest, Indiana Starfire Cloggers, Greg Rhodes, and more.

This year’s fair will have plenty of displays and demonstrations for fairgoers to enjoy in Family Arts, the Marketplace, 4-H and more. The Horse Arena will host quite a few events throughout the fair including Western Ground and versatility.  Other animal shows and classes include poultry, dogs, swine, and more. On the non-animal side, the 4-H Exhibit Hall will have a fashion review, BBQ chicken contest and other displays.

Gates are open from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday. General admission is $5. Children age 5 and under and members of the military with valid ID are admitted free. Parking is free in the large and convenient lots.

Among the Marion County Fair’s 2019 sponsors are MacAllister Rentals, PNC Bank, Noah’s Animal Hospitals, T-Mobile, Shoe Carnival, Pet Suites, Francisan Health, and Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association.

This will be taking place at the 123-acre Marion County Fairgrounds, 7300 East Troy Avenue, located just east of I-465 & Southeastern Avenue interchange. Gates open 5pm on weekdays and 12 noon on weekends. General Admission to the grounds is $5 per person; children 5 and under are free, military members with a valid ID are free, and parking is always free in convenient fairground lots.
