Since 1958, the scholarship pageant has been a long standing tradition that helps young women receive scholarships to help further their education. To be eligible to compete, contestants must be between the ages of 14-20 years old. The Queen’s court gets to experience the fair differently than most fairgoers. With free entrance to all ten days of the fair and Fair Bucks to spend for their meals, the Court has the opportunity to see all the workings of the Marion County Fair. There’s also opportunities to participate in local events, such as parades, throughout their year long reign.

Being Queen has been a dream come true for me. For as long as I could remember, I came out to the fair and watched the queen pageant hoping to one day be the queen. Through the Marion County Queen Pageant I have gained so many lifelong friendships and have had incredible opportunities to support and give back to the community that made me who I am today. I am forever grateful to be your 2018 Marion County Fair Queen,” said current Queen Paige Wells about her time as queen. The opportunities do not stop after the Marion County Fair. The Queen will also go on to compete in the Indiana State Fair Pageant along with other County Fair Queens.
