Pageant History

The Marion County Fair has been crowning Queens since 1958 when Janice Cook took home the first title! The county Pageant serves as the feeder competition leading to the Indiana State Fair Pageant. Marion County has seen 3 of its winners go on to be named Indiana State Fair Queen as well: Susan Bristow (1961), Judith Kay Smith (1968) and Ellen Elizabeth Turner (1981)!

Below is the list of past winners… if you are on the list or know someone on it… we’d love to have you share photos from when you were crowned or during your time at the fair. Please email those to queenpageant@marioncountyfair.org with the subject line “Queen archive” and we’ll post them on this page and on the Marion County Fair Queen Facebook page!
